Towards Culturally Competent Care
HISTORY OF THE
CORPORATION
-
Motivated by a commitment to capitalize on
the richness of human differences, the Center for Psychological Health Care
(CPHC) began in 1982 as a home-based office, incorporated as "Ivory L.
Toldson, Ed.D," a Psychology Corporation.
-
Viewing diversity as an asset that
provides a balance of different viewpoints, perspectives, and strengths, the
first public office for the Private Practice of Psychology opened in 1988.
-
Striving for well-rounded perspectives on
corporate decisions, the corporate name of the company was changed to Center
for Psychological Health Care in 1990.
-
In 1993, CPHC occupied it's current near
7000 square feet facility at 861 Main Street in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
